James Packer, Australia’s richest man has increased his stake in Australia’s largest casino operator, Crown Ltd. Paying $187 million, Packer has increased his stake in the Casino group to 40%.

Whilst the gaming industry is reporting mixed financial results across the World, gambling revenue has fallen for 20 & 13 straight months in Las Vegas and Atlantic City respectively.

Besides the obvious impact of the recession, some industry figures are muting the increasing popularity for playing casinos online, particularly in the UK and European markets.
